What was Jehovah thinking when he put that tree in the middle of the garden and the told Adam and Eve not to eat of its fruit? The real all-knowing God would never have done such a thing. Didn't he know that making the tree and the fruit would absolutely ruin this perfect man and woman? Didn't he know the result would be be a perpetual, deadly curse upon the world from then on? If you didn't want them to partake of it, why put it there in the first place? So now we have Jehovah, an imposter God whose knowledge is either limited or terribly flawed. Only the worst of demons would be so cruel as to actually enact and produce the conditions leading to endless suffering for billions of innocent mankind. If humans must be judged and tested, why not God? Joshua 24:19 "Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins."

What would Russell change if he appeared tomorrow?

blood, .

I think Russell would do two things. First of all he would see about confirming himself a seat on the governing body and second of all, getting the maximum monitary benefits allowed for a person of his stature in the organization. REMEMBER, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, THE POWER, AND MASTURBATING YOUR EGO!!!

Did I do wrong on skeeping the "fading" stage?
by flag inup to last month i was a witness in "good" standing in the cong.
i was not from the elite circle but everybody respects me and a lot of people go to me for advice or comfort when they feel left out by "holy ones".
so, i don't know if i made a mistake by cutting all jw activities at once because now i think i'm the topic of the conversation and phone calls already started to come this past weekend.

I want to compliment you on cutting the cord so quickly. I don't think there is any truly graceful way to leave the religion unless you just move away from the area, leaving them no way to find you. I think you're in for a difficult few months, but your strength will get you through. I saw that you care very much for the friend you mentioned that had been temporarily covering for you. Depending upon how devoted a witness she is will be crucial in her continued relationship with you. A dear friend of mine came to our city for the district convention with his wife and children. I was serving as P.O. at the time and he cautiously took me to the side and told me there were things I needed to know. He never mentioned them directly but said the organization was not what I thought it was and when I truly found out what it was all about I would get mad. He told me enough to let me know that he felt we had been betrayed. I never ratted him out and today I'm the one disfellowshipped while he still hangs around in the shadows with his family who are still witnesses. He doesn't go to the meetings any more and neither does his wife and children, but he has kept his position very low-key. Even though his brothers and father who are elders consider him apostate, they leave him alone. I, however was like the proverbial bull in the china shop, and blew my stack over the information he sent me. I have left this religion with my wife and children at my side. In the process I lost life-long friends as well as my father, mother, and sister. I wouldn't go back or change a thing. The point I'm trying to make is the procedure you choose from here on out may well determine the severity of the consequences. Best wishes on your difficult but enlightening journey.

Aliens started their attack in 1879 with Zions Watchtower. Their fearless leader sporting his ray gun was C.T. Russell.

The problem I have with scholar, schism and other defenders like PMJ are their blatant refusals to be logical. They're not here to learn but only to try and tear down any reasoning that goes contrary to the Bible or the WTS. Because of being involved with the society for 49 years and serving in many different capacities of responsiblility, I understand WT reasoning as well as any witness. I understand only too well circular reasoning. It kind of reminds me of a dog chasing his tail, always going in circles and never getting anywhere. That's exactly how I feel when I read Scholars posts on 607 B.C. When I pulled my head out of my ass, no more circular reasoning, and started to study the various religions and their saviours, world history other than works tainted by the WT, science, the true history of the Bible (not the fictional All Scriptures Inspired and Benefical crap),and archaeology as something other than tools of Satan to blind us, only then were my eyes opened. There are some people on this board that are that are in different stages of recovery from WT damage. When I initially left the organization, I had some of my friends tell me some of the things they came to believe and I thought they had fell off the wagon, you know, lost their minds. Now some of my conclusions are the same as theirs. It took me constant research and 5 years of recovery to get to this point in my life. I will not tell you I have the answers to life and God, I can only tell for sure that JWs don't. I think that finding God is not done in the Bible because Jehovah is a fiend and a failure. Any logical examination of the Genesis account of creation, original sin, death and the ransom are the ramblings of men depicting an insane and unreasonable God. God has to be bigger than the Bible and this whole earthly scene has to be something besides the good and evil circular reasoning presented by so many religions today. I see a lot of x-witnesses running from one religious judgemental trap and fall into another. Most people can't live without the thought of being born in sin and needing a ransomer and that they're never good enough and they have to find some person or group to tell them about God and what he wants and where to send their money for salvation. I know I've got a lot to learn as life goes along, but unreasoning WT defenders will never again be my instructors!!! I probably just need to laugh at the antics of Scholar, Schizm, and PMJ rather that give them a reply.

What's so bad about Satan?
by robhic inwhy is satan supposed to be so bad?
he gets the blame, sure, but what does he explicitly do?
that god had?

What's so bad about Satan is he is only as bad as God made him. The bigger the screw-up by God, the bigger the bad for Satan. When you're a nasty, bad tempered God who goes on killing rampages at will, you have to have an equally nasty counterpart to take the flack. That where Satan and his organization come in. Think about how convenient Satan's bad and his organization are used by the JWs as the answer for every thing from his manipulation of apostates through lies and deceit, higher education to teach us to doubt things like the creation account, the flood, archaeology' and the dating of historical events that don't agree with their chronology. I think that should be JW Scholar's new approach. It sure makes a lot more sense than his 607 B.C. ramblings. Think about this, Satan did all the bad stuff to Job but who fingered Job for the action? Who let it happen? How many of us could get over the death of one child and not curse God under these circumstances? Job's wife was right in that God needed to be cursed, but who got the blame? Whose to blame for the WTs over 125 years of failed prophecy, God or Satan? Whe J.F. Rutherford said that his prophecies concerning 1925 caused him to make an ass out of himself, who was helping the ass-maker, God or Satan? I've never heard any comments on that one. Now, if Satan is the Father of the Lie and if everything you say never comes true, then who is the culprit? Maybe God and Satan are the same figure wearing two masks.

WALKING IN THE PATH OF INCREASING LIGHT - WT STUDY
by Mary infor those of you not "keeping up with the organization"botchtower deals soley with all the bullshit instances of "increased light" on this joke of a religion god's organization.
it asks many drone-like thought-provoking questions as i've listed below.
incredible that these guys claim to be the sole ownership of what is absolute "truth", yet change doctrines like i change lipsticks.

I don't think the society is going to change anything about blood, donations, or disfellowshipping. The have too much at stake in the blood and disfellowhipping, shunning areas. My guess is they are going to tighten down and police heavier as regards to the internet, using the R/F to tattle on one another using ploys like loyalty to Jehovah and his organization. Taking more control over the personal lives of witnesses and really coming down hard on secular education such as college, as well as the viewing of educational channels on T.V.. They may go so far as to tell you that talking about certain subjects and expressing any opinion other than WT approved will be considered a judicial infraction. They may also make some announcement that due to a decrease in new converts with no increases in many countries that the preaching work is over in certain areas and that the publishers are to draw in close and witness only to friends and family they feel may be deserving. It time to start loading the animals and the family on the ark of salvation because Jehovah is soon to close the door. A stronger cultistic agenda stressing loyalty and that everything outside is Satan's system at work will in my opinion allow them to hold on a little longer while they use this as an excuse to downsize and take the profits from real-estate sales. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Now That The "Hope" Of Paradise Is Gone-----Now What???
by minimus inare you aimless?

THE SHOOTIST
The (now what???) is just life. Living right now, enjoying a cool drink while sitting on the porch and watching an incredible sunset, the laughter of little children playing with puppies in the yard, the smell of your favorite foods as you walk in the house for supper, and the sweet kisses from your little children or grandchildren. The point is can you find paradise right now? Is your glass half full of half empty? Do we have to have the promise of paradise to find happiness now? Seventy four years ago my grandmother said paradise was right around the corner. Every day was doomsday and armageddon and bad this and bad that. Fear dominated her and her children and grandchildren. She died without paradise. The glass was always half empty. Any person who says he or she has the answers and there is a paradise and they can prove it and its right around the corner, I consider to be a liar. They are also thieves that will rob you of paradise right now and will have you chasing that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Last dayers and a rainbow have a lot in common. Every time they think they see thee end and chase after it, it moves further out and appears to be somewhere else. (Now What???) Enjoy life, be a good person, and if there is a paradise and a loving God, you'll be there.

This week on Jan.11 I turned the big 55, you know, senior citizen stuff. I'm not real happy about the age but life if good. I been out of the JWs now for 5 years with no contact from witness relatives. I started calling some of my mothers brothers and sisters who are not witnesses. Since I was raised as a witness from infancy, I never was allowed to cultivate a relationship with worldly relatives. I always thought my Uncle Cliff was special. He got me my first knife, my first ball glove, and took me shooting pistols for the first time. However, as I got older and more JW involved, I saw less and less of Uncle Cliff. He was the rounder with the common-law wife who cussed and told a dirty joke from time to time. There was no place in my life as an elder and pioneer for him or any of my worldly relatives. After pulling my head out of my ass, I went in search of lost relatives. I've never been so loved and so readily forgiven by these wonderful people. I needed them to forgive me for not loving them they way I should have. I sent them all Christmas gifts for the first time this past December. I can't tell you in words how much it meant to them and the expressions of endearment I received from them. These are people in their late sixties and early seventys who were shut out of my life for over 40 years. Anyway, on Jan. 11, I received a birthday card from Uncle Cliff. I literally wept profusely at the words on the card (To My Very Special Nephew). You probably think this sounds stupid, but that card was the highlight of my birthday. Uncle Cliff and I talk on the phone every couple of weeks and we laugh a lot. At 74 he still tells a dirty joke once and a while, he don't go to church, he loves his mules and horses and me. I'm so glad I found him. He always was and will be my favorite Uncle.
